Mosslorn Has Fallen
A whole city, keys still in the cars, and every one of us has agreed to move in

Season II will not be played in a world we grew. It will be played in Mosslorn: a city built before us, emptied before us, and left with the doors open. Up to 50 of us are expected. Fewer are expected to finish.
What is settled is short. The difficulty is hard, the whitelist is on, and there is no Nether: the modpack that would have needed one is not being required, so that door stays shut.
What is not settled is nearly everything else. Earlier editions of this paper printed a siege timetable, infection odds and a rule about the dead not burning in daylight. None of that has been agreed. It came from a modpack the season is no longer built on, and it has been withdrawn.
Fighting between the living is permitted, but not as a free-for- all. The server's position is that it runs on grudges: you are left to die, you remember it, and some weeks later your side and their side are no longer speaking. The fights are supposed to come out of the story rather than replace it.
And the city itself is hostile in a way that has nothing to do with the dead. Concrete holds the heat. Open streets offer no shade. And the season turns: the weather will not stay as it is. Winter is coming to Mosslorn, eventually, and nobody in this newsroom has heard a single plan for it.
This paper will continue to publish for as long as there is anybody left to read it, and for a short while afterwards.

How The Fighting Starts
Not a free-for-all, and not a timetable. The season runs on grudges.
The server's own account of it: you get into trouble early on. You ask somebody for help. They do not come, and you die. You remember that. The next time the two of you disagree about anything at all, you are not really arguing about that thing.
By then neither of you is alone. What began as one person leaving another to die ends with two factions who no longer speak, and the fighting comes out of that rather than out of a rule permitting it.
Which means the interesting question is not who can beat whom. It is who owes whom, and how long they intend to remember it. This paper will be keeping a list.

Still Unconfirmed
- Every mechanic. Infection, hordes, whether the dead behave differently in daylight — none of it is settled, and the modpack that would have decided it is not required.
- How faction conflict is policed once two groups genuinely fall out.
- The start date.
- Whether anyone has thought about winter.
This paper prints what it knows and admits what it does not, which already distinguishes it from most of the server.

A Note On The Weather
Readers have asked whether the season will be survivable in summer. It will not be comfortable. The concrete holds heat, the streets offer no shade, and a survivor can be cooked in the middle of the afternoon by nothing more hostile than the sky.
Winter is the other half of that sentence, and no one has mentioned it once.
Mosslorn is the work of milkshake_mp3, used with thanks. We only played in it; we did not build it, and we are not handing it out.
